For as long as I can remember, I have been drawing pictures-- in between the margins of my pages, on sticky notes during my breaks, and even in the sand at the beach.
In middle school, I became obsessed with the word "aesthetic," finding myself taking pictures of aesthetic outfits, aesthetic skies, and aesthetic branding. Any snack, drink, or skincare packaging that was unique and visually appealing would find itself posted to my "aesthetic" Instagram page. Little did I realize that I wouldn't have been so drawn to purchasing and posting these brands if it weren't for the powerful work of graphic designers!
In high school, I took a Scientific Visualization class. The name sounded intimidating, but the class ended up introducing me to my favorite design program, Adobe Illustrator. Our teacher was always excited to show off the graphics and illustrations I created, and he encouraged me to pursue a career in graphic design.
Thanks to him, I now have my associate's degree in Graphic Design, where I get to combine my love of drawing and pretty packaging every day!
When I'm not drawing, I'm writing, editing videos, making music on my computer, or trying to gather the courage to wake up my cat sleeping on my lap so I can finally go to the bathroom!
